This early 20th century plaster copy of Luca Della Robbia's Cantoria by the Caproni Brothers had been obscured by four layers of thick overpaint and
suffered a large break in the upper corner.
I carefully stripped the paint, using the utmost caution to avoid damaging the original plaster. I reattached the broken corner piece and, in consultation with the
owner, decided to leave the plaster unpainted.
